Phases of Care

Relief Care

Most people seek out help from a chiropractor because they are in pain. So during your first phase of care, our goal will be to reduce the severity of your symptoms. This may require visits 2-3 time per week or daily for a few weeks depending on your condition.

Corrective Care

Once the severity of your symptoms have been reduced we will focus on correcting the underlying cause of your pain. If you were to stop your care at the reduction of your symptoms the chances of the condition recurring are much higher. In order to prevent this from happening it is necessary to continue treatment to address the underlying issue.

During this phase of care you will not have to receive adjustments as frequently as the first phase. At this time exercises may be added to your treatment plan, either to be performed at the clinic or home, this will help to accelerate your healing. The length of this part of care is determined by the severity of your condition, your age, lifestyle, duration of symptoms, and over all health. Every individual is different and heals at a different pace.

It is important to note here as well that just because you are not in pain does not mean that there is nothing wrong, or that you are healthy. Pain is a poor indicator of health. Pain is only an indicator that something is wrong. For example consider a smoke detector. When there is a fire the detector goes off. If you remove the batteries the detector stops going off, but that does not solve the issue of the fire that set it off in the first place. Pain acts the same way. If we stop care at the absence of pain we are not truly correcting the underlying condition.

Wellness Care

Once your body has healed, routine chiropractic care can help ensure that your problems do not return and keep your body functioning at it highest potential. There are many other benefits of continued chiropractic care including increased immunity, better flexibility, better health, increased sports performance, and many more. Just like diet and exercise you cannot do either for one month and expect lifelong continued results. They need to become habits to continue to receive the benefits. Chiropractic is the same. When you make chiropractic care part of your lifestyle you can avoid many of the aches and pains many others suffer and you will be able to enjoy the activities you love.
